Bering Tonnage FAQ: Demo, Pause, Languages & More

Answers from the Steam forum and launch-week play

What happened to the Bering Tonnage demo?

Antimuon Studios removed it on September 29, 2026, three days before launch. The developer said on the Steam forum that the full game is a much newer build with several new features and the demo no longer represented it. If Steam shows the demo as uninstalled or unplayable, that is why.

Is Bering Tonnage multiplayer?

No. The Steam page lists Single-player only. The other shipping lines you meet at ports (Hanseatic Gate Line, DGM, Alonto S.A., Great Lakes Packet and others in the Competitors tab) are AI rivals.

Can you pause Bering Tonnage?

In the demo there was no pause button and no time bar. Holding Shift (or the turbo button) speeds time up, and streamers found no key that stops the clock. Costs keep running while ships sit idle, so learn the menus early rather than mid-hurricane. We will update this if the release build adds a pause.

What languages is Bering Tonnage in?

At launch: English, German, Japanese, Russian and Simplified Chinese. The developer says Korean, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are expected by December 2026.

The UI is tiny or overlapping. How do I fix it?

Players raised this on the Steam forum and the developer says the scaling problems are addressed in the release. In the demo, a UI scale above 100 at 1440p made panels overlap and hid the close button; setting UI scale to 100 fixed it. Try 100-125 first, then raise it one step at a time.

Is Bering Tonnage on Mac, Steam Deck or consoles?

Steam lists Windows and Linux. There is no macOS build and no console or mobile version announced. Steam Deck has no Valve rating yet; the Linux build and light hardware needs (integrated graphics minimum) are good signs, but the UI was already small on a desktop monitor.

How many ports and ships are in Bering Tonnage?

The store page lists 295 real-world ports and 86,730 possible routes, 148 ship variants from 29 manufacturers sold at 16 shipyards, and 162 shipping licenses.

Is there an official Discord or subreddit?

Yes. The Steam page links the official Discord (discord.gg/sTJV82RuzU, created by the studio account) and the subreddit r/beringtonnage. The developer also answers on the Steam discussion board.
