A 64-bit processor and operating system are required. Linux is a supported platform on Steam; macOS is not. Steam does not list a storage figure.

The UI scale problem and how to fix it

The most common technical complaint in the demo was not frame rate but text size. One forum player needed about 200% scaling to read comfortably, which broke the layout, and the flag registry menu overflowed so some flags could not be selected. The developer replied that these issues are "addressed fully in the release".

If you still hit it:

  1. Open Settings → Display → Interface and look for UI scale. The demo default was 150.
  2. At 2560×1440, a scale above 100 made panels overlap and pushed the window close button out of reach in the demo. Setting 100 fixed it on stream.
  3. Raise it one step at a time (125, then 150) and open the Change Flag of Registry window as a test: it is the widest panel in the game.
  4. The window close button is a dark X on a dark header. Look for it in the top-right corner of each panel before assuming a window is stuck.

Graphics settings worth knowing

The demo's display menu already had a preset (Custom), texture quality and separate toggles for weather, snow and ice rendering, plus windowed or fullscreen and monitor selection. Turning off weather rendering is the first thing to try on weak integrated graphics; you lose the hurricane swirls on the map but not the storms themselves, which still close ports.

Performance questions

Can a laptop with integrated graphics run Bering Tonnage?

Yes, that is the stated minimum: integrated graphics, 4 GB of RAM and a Ryzen 3 1200 or Core i5-7400. A 2-hour demo stream on a desktop barely warmed the GPU, so the map itself is light. The recommended 16 GB of RAM is the number to watch once your fleet and route list grow.

Why did the demo stutter on a fast PC?

One player reported 5-10 FPS in the demo on both an RTX 5090 desktop and an RTX 4070 laptop. The developer answered that this was a demo-only issue and that the release adds several graphics options and optimisations for all hardware.

Does Bering Tonnage need a 64-bit system?

Yes. Both the minimum and recommended tiers on Steam require a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 10 or later.
